Peugeot adds Pin as development driver

Peugeot TotalEnergies has signed up 22-year-old French racer Doriane Pin as a Hypercar development driver for 2026.

Pin, the reigning F1 Academy drivers’ champion, adds this duty to her return to sportscar racing this season, alongside her confirmed European Le Mans Series program with Duqueine Team in LMP2. She will also take on the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the French team aboard its ORECA 07 Gibson.

As part of her program as a development driver with Peugeot, Pin will take part in the FIA WEC Rookie Test, where she will drive the 9X8 Hypercar for the first time in Bahrain the day after the final race of the season in November. In the meantime, she will undertake multiple simulator sessions, and work closely with Peugeot’s engineering teams throughout the year.

Pin has become the second development driver at Peugeot, alongside previously-confirmed British racer Alex Quinn, who she will compete against in this year’s ELMS.

“Joining Team Peugeot TotalEnergies as a development driver is a great source of pride for me,” she said.

“Being able to contribute to the development of the Peugeot 9X8 represents a real opportunity. My goal is to learn as much as possible, fully integrate into the team, and bring my commitment and perspective to help contribute to the success of the project. It’s a big step toward my goals, and I’m determined to make the most of it with the ambition of becoming an official driver.”

Emmanuel Esnault, team principal, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Doriane to the Peugeot Sport family. Doriane’s track record and dynamic approach make her a fantastic addition to our development program.

“We’re looking forward to the new perspectives she will bring as we continue refining the 9X8 and we are eager to see her get behind the wheel during the FIA WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain this November.”
