Cup Series: 2018 by the numbers
Three drivers dominated the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season in a feat that has been well documented over the past ten months.
However, a look at the numbers shows a story deeper than the Big 3.
NASCAR crowned first-time champions in all three national series this year. One of those champions, Tyler Reddick, was a rookie. In the Cup Series, William Byron was crowned Rookie of the Year, which was his fourth consecutive ROY title dating back to his K&N season. In 2018 Kevin Harvick equaled Martin Truex Jr.'s 2017 series-leading 19 stage wins. Kurt Busch led the series in poles but only had one win.
