IMSA: New mid-engine Porsche 911 RSR set for debut

Porsche will pull the covers off its long awaited mid-engine 911 RSR on Wednesday at the L.A. Auto Show. The German brand’s new pride and joy

has been seen in testing at Sebring

, and has been the subject of teaser posts by the marque, but details on the car – barring whatever stood out in the videos – have been kept under wraps.

Other than the sounds of its traditional flat-six engine and cooling changes to feed its first production-based 911 racecar featuring a mid-engine layout, the rest of the information on Porsche’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Le Mans and FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Pro factory entries will be revealed later this week.
