34 IMSA entries on tap for Laguna Seca
IMSA has published the entry list for next week’s StubHub Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The second sprint race of the IMSA season will have 34 cars entered, all of them full-time competitors in the GTP, GTD Pro and GTD classes.
Earl Bamber, who missed the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach due to IMSA commitments, will be back behind the wheel of the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen V-Series.R alongside Jack Aitken. The Action Express Racing team has now scored podiums in every IMSA race thus far, and five in a row dating back to 2025.
This race will also mark Laurin Heinrich’s second appearance in the No. 5 JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche 963.
GTD Pro’s nine full-time entries consist of the two Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports and Ford Racing entries, Paul Miller Racing’s BMW, AO Racing’s Porsche, Vasser Sullivan Racing’s Lexus, Pfaff Motorsports’ Lamborghini Temerario GT3, and RLL Team McLaren.
Within the 14 GTD entries there are a couple of changes to note. Conquest Racing has brought back Lorenzo Patrese for an additional race. Patrese, the No. 34 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo’s Endurance Cup driver, replaces Manny Franco, who will not be available for next week’s race.
Scott Andrews, normally the ace driver for Michelin Endurance Cup competitor Lone Star Racing, will make a one-off appearance for Van der Steur Racing in the No. 19 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, replacing Valentin Hasse-Clot who is on European Le Mans Series duty.
Tom Gamble returns to his regular place at Heart of Racing Team’s No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage alongside current GTD points leader Eduardo Barrichello.
