LM24: Brundle to return to racing in support event

Ex-Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle will return to the cockpit on the support bill of the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
The Sky F1 commentator will race a Ligier-Nissan LMP3 for the United Autosports squad in the one-hour Road to Le Mans race, which combines P3 machinery with the grid of the new-for-2016 GT3 Le Mans Cup.
Brundle, winner at Le Mans with Jaguar in 1990, will share the car in the event on June 18 with United regular Christian England in what will be his first race in contemporary machinery since 2012. He contested the Silverstone round of the World Endurance Championship in a Greaves Motorsport Zytek-Nissan Z11SN LMP2 two months on from his last appearance in the 24 Hours in the same car alongside son Alex.
The drive will also reunite the 57-year-old with the Ligier marque he drove for in F1 in 1993 and '95.
Brundle, who raced a Riley-Ford MkXX for United at the 2011 Daytona 24 Hours, said: "This golden opportunity allows me to drive the full Le Mans circuit again in a prototype racing car. It's always such a pleasure and privilege to drive that magnificent circuit, so I grabbed the opportunity to rejoin United Autosports."
Brundle will race the same Ligier chassis in which his son took LMP3 honours in the opening round of the European Le Mans Series together with England and Mike Guasch at Silverstone last month.
