Dakar Rally announces 2015 route

The 2015 edition of the Dakar Rally will adopt a looped-route approach by starting and finishing in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires, event organizers revealed.

The 37th running of the event – the seventh since its move to South America – will begin its journey in the city before heading through Chile and Bolivia, which hosted the event for the first time this year.

The rally will then re-enter Argentina for the final few stages of the 9000-kilometer race before concluding in the capital city.

Peru continues to be excluded from the course schedule, having last been included in 2013. Other changes for next year's Dakar Rally include differing rest days for each of the four competing categories.

The 16-day race begins in Buenos Aires on January 3rd, one week prior to the fifth round of maiden Formula E season there, and will feature the much-anticipated return of Peugeot to the event.
