Rovera gets multi-year Ferrari extension
Alessio Rovera has become the second Ferrari factory driver this month to receive a multi-year extension to his contract, after Antonio Giovinazzi was awarded a new deal before the FIA WEC's 6 Hours of São Paulo.
The 30-year-old joined the Italian marque’s factory driver stable in 2022 and, since then, has scored a number of standout results as part of the Prancing Horse’s GTE and, more recently, GT3 programs. His successes include class wins in the FIA WEC and a GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup title in 2024.
He has made a name for himself in prototype competition with AF Corse in recent seasons, too, winning the LMP2 Pro/Am title in the European Le Mans Series last year.
Rovera also contributed to the development programme for Ferrari’s 499P Hypercar and currently acts as a reserve driver for the team’s top-class program.
Racing with Vista AF Corse in the WEC’s LMGT3 class this year, he and his teammates Simon Mann and Francois Heriau sit second in the points standings with three races to go.
“I am truly happy and proud to be able to continue my journey with Ferrari,” he said. “Wearing these colours and representing such a prestigious name in international competitions is both an honour and a great responsibility.
"Over the years, we have achieved significant milestones together, and I am motivated to give my all to keep improving and chasing new victories.
“I want to thank Ferrari for their trust and support. I look forward to taking on the next challenges together.”
