Kurt Busch on top in final Kansas practice
Kurt Busch ran a lap of 186.226 mph to pace final practice Saturday afternoon at Kansas Speedway.
Erik Jones was second quickest at 186.104 mph. Aric Almirola, who led the morning practice, was third at 185.842 mph. Completing the top five were Kyle Busch at 185.471 mph and Paul Menard at 185.446 mph.
There were no incidents in the 50-minute session.
Team Penske drivers Ryan Blaney (185.344 mph) and Brad Keselowski (185.090 mph) were sixth and seventh fastest. Then came Clint Bowyer at 184.976 mph, Alex Bowman at 184.919 mph and Martin Truex Jr. at 184.894 mph.
Truex is the defending race winner and goes into Sunday’s race at the driver on the bubble.
Pole-sitter Joey Logano was 12th in final practice at 184.830 mph.
