Injured Lamborghini driver Monk released from hospital

IMSA Lamborghini Super Trofeo driver Sheena Monk, who was involved in a huge crash atop the Corkscrew at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, has been released from the hospital.

Although the full extent of her injuries are unknown, Monk could be ready to race in approximately two months. Monk’s team owner Wayne Taylor is known to be searching for a replacement chassis to run her at the November 15-18 Lamborghini World Finals in Vallelunga, Italy.

Monk was flown to a trauma facility in Santa Clara, California immediately after the incident, but was released to drive home to Southern California Tuesday morning.
