First IndyCar practice session at Markham postponed until Saturday

The first practice session of the Markham IndyCar Grand Prix has been postponed to Saturday at 10 a.m. ET due to ongoing track preparation work, IndyCar officials announced.

Originally scheduled for a 3 p.m. start, the session was delayed Friday afternoon to allow any remaining preparations to be completed. A statement from series officials at the time of the delay said: “Once the race promoter has completed the track build and IndyCar deems the circuit safe and appropriate for competition, the first on-track session of the weekend will begin.”

All subsequent sessions are presently set to run at their scheduled start times.
