Ricciardo fast again in second Hungary practice

Daniel Ricciardo put his Red Bull at the top of the times in the second practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix, ending the session 0.183 seconds faster than Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.

The Red Bull Racing driver was in the mix with the Mercedes duo during the first half of the session, before switching to a new set of super softs to jump to the top of the table with a time of 1m18.455s.

Valtteri Bottas ended the session third for Mercedes, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton was further back in fifth position and three-tenths off the pace. However, Hamilton's time was set on the soft compound as the Briton failed to improve when he switched to the supersofts midway in the session.

In the other Red Bull, Max Verstappen again found himself almost half a second off the pace as he finished in sixth position, while Nico Hulkenberg edged McLaren's Fernando Alonso for seventh spot.

Carlos Sainz broke into the top ten to finish eighth and 1.3 seconds off Ricciardo's benchmark, while Stoffel Vandoorne was 10th in the other McLaren despite having a scare with his power unit where he was told to nurse the car back to the pits.
