BLANCPAIN: Grasser reveals 2016 Lamborghini plans

The Austrian Grasser Lamborghini team will field multiple entries across the Blancpain GT Series in 2016 for a roster of drivers including Jeroen Bleekemolen, Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Piccini.

Grasser, which ran the factory Lamborghini program in last year's Blancpain Endurance Series, will run two Huracan GT3s on a works-supported basis in the long-distance championship this season.

Jeroen Bleekemolen, who won four races in the Blancpain Sprint Series with Grasser in 2014, will share one car with Lamborghini factory driver Mirko Bortolotti and Ferrari Challenge graduate Vadim Gitlin.

The second car will be raced by former Aston Martin Racing driver Andrea Piccini, ADAC GT racer winner and new Lamborghini junior driver Luca Stolz and 21-year-old Michele Beretta, who is moving into sportscars from the European Formula 3 Championship. Grasser is also planning to enter a third car for the Spa 24 Hours BES round in July.

Bleekemolen will drive in the BSS together with Stefan Rosina, a race winner in the 2013 FIA GT Series with the Reiter Lambo squad. Bortolotti will drive in the sprint races together with Nici Pohler, who is also moving across from European F3. Stolz and Beretta will drive the final Huracan in the BSS.

Bleekemolen will, however, have to miss up to four of the Blancpain races courtesy of his other commitments, including racing for the Riley Dodge Viper GT Daytona team in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. Grasser will also contest the ADAC GT Masters series with two cars.

Team boss Gottfried Grasser said: "I am really looking forward to the great challenge in 2016

"After our experiences with the new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 last season, we are sure that we will start with quite a competitive race car this year."

Lamborghini fielded factory entries with Grasser last season in the development season for the Huracan, but has opted to provide works support for its customer teams in 2016.
