RACER Video: Marshall Pruett with Kiwis Brendon Hartley and Scott Dixon

2015 was a remarkable year for New Zealand's racecar drivers. Scott Dixon won his fourth IndyCar Series championship, his young countryman Brendon Hartley won the FIA World Endurance Championship P1 title, and now the two are paired together for the 2016 Rolex 24 at Daytona at Chip Ganassi Racing. The Kiwis discuss their recent success and first chance to work together at IMSA's opening race.

From this video:

(Hartley) "It was an incredible year, not only for me – it wasn't just for us as well, that's the crazy thing. There's loads of us doing well on an international scale. A lot of people ask us is there something in the water. Scott [Dixon] paved the way for a lot of us growing up in New Zealand, Formula V, Formula Ford. Toyota Racing Series. But he paved the way. There had been quite a gap since there was another Kiwi driver.

I think we will look back on the last few years and hopefully the next two years and realize that it was a bit of a golden era. Like I said, it's not just us two standing here, there's more than we can count on our hands and toes."

(Dixon) "It's definitely an exciting time for Kiwis and most in motor racing in general. Unfortunately, Brendon is in a different car here with teammates, but hopefully one of us can definitely bring one of the Ganassi cars to the front here at Daytona."
