Montagny gets two-year racing ban
Franck Montagny has been given a two-year ban from motorsport after failing a drug test following the Putrajaya Formula E race last November.
The Frenchman was given a provisional suspension following the test result pending an FIA hearing, the result of which has now been published by motorsport's governing body. It confirmed that Montagny had violated article 2.1 of the FIA's anti-doping regulations by testing positive for cocaine derivative Benzoylecgonine.
He has been suspended from competition until December 2016 and disqualified from the 15th-place finish he achieved in the Malaysian Formula E race. Montagny had finished second in the inaugural FE race in Beijing last year for Andretti Autosport.
The 37-year-old had already said in the wake of his test failure that it probably marked the end of his racing career.
