WEC: Strakka reveals new livery
The Strakka Racing squad has unveiled the livery in which its as-yet-unraced Strakka Dome S103 LMP2 coupe will compete in this year's World Endurance Championship.
The Silverstone-based team has launched its Nissan-engined contender ahead of the official WEC test days at Paul Ricard next week at which the car will make its public debut. The car will run against its opposition for the first time, following private tests at Imola, Aragon, Paul Ricard, Silverstone and the Hungaroring since undergoing major rear-end revisions over the summer.
The changes followed a major accident at Spa ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours, which was due to have been the car's delayed debut. It was on schedule to race in the WEC finale at Interlagos in November before homologation issues with the car's head restraint forced another delay.
The delays mean that the WEC opener at Silverstone on April 12 will be the Strakka sports car squad's first race since its sixth-place finish at Le Mans in 2013 with its LMP1 HPD ARX-03c.
The team is back with an unchanged driver lineup of Danny Watts, Jonny Kane and team owner Nick Leventis, and will run the on Michelin tires.
