FR3.5: Cars revert to old brake spec
Formula Renault 3.5 teams have had to change to a previous specification of brakes following problems in practice with new parts introduced for the Hungaroring race weekend.
The cars were fitted with new brakes for this event as part of the first round of cost-cutting measures aimed at making the series more affordable to safeguard its future.
However, AUTOSPORT understands that several teams and drivers were not happy with the performance and reliability of the new brakes during practice on Friday, and it was agreed that all 12 outfits would switch back to the previous specification for Saturday and Sunday's sessions.
As a result of that, event organizers added a 15-minute untimed shakedown session to Saturday's program "on the grounds of safety".
