Rock crawling? It’s anything but at Crandon, says Loren Healy
Loren Healy isn’t the winningest driver in Ultra4 history for nothing. The New Mexico native got hooked on rock crawling after giving it a go with a beat-up truck and a few friends, and multiple titles later, is still the guy to beat when the Ultra4 4400s hit the boulders at King of the Hammers or Crandon International Raceway.
Loren joins RACER Weekly to tell us what makes Crandon so special, why he’s still enjoying new challenges – the 2026 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, anyone? – and how he’s working with Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Ford to make off-road adventuring accessible to everyone.
And to check out Loren Healy at the 57th Polaris Crandon World Championships, head to RACER Network, Sept. 4-6, for live coverage of short-course off-road racing’s biggest weekend.
