Detroit delivers another ratings bump for IndyCar
The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix received a bump in its television audience as a 10 percent improvement over the 2025 race was recorded by FOX.
An average of 1,167,000 viewers tuned in to watch polesitter Alex Palou earn his fourth win of the season for Chip Ganassi Racing in the No. 10 Honda. The 100-lap race peaked with 1,524,000 viewers from 2:45-2:52pm.
Last year, the average for Detroit was 1,061,000, which was one of five IndyCar races in a calendar spanning 17 races - 29 percent - to draw more than 1 million viewers during the broadcaster’s first season of coverage.
So far in 2026, six of the eight races - 75 percent - have surpassed 1 million viewers, which speaks to the increased interest being experienced by the series.
