Fans can request Freedom 250 GP free tickets starting today at noon
With anticipation building for the first IndyCar race on the streets of Washington D.C. and around the National Mall Aug. 22-23, fans can request free General Admission tickets to the Freedom 250 Grand Prix beginning today at noon ET.
As a cornerstone event of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the two-day event will be free and open to the public. Beginning at noon ET today, fans can visit the official Freedom 250 Grand Prix Ticketmaster portal to submit requests for free General Admission tickets. The ticket request window will remain open through Sunday, June 7. Following the close of the request period, entries will be selected through a random drawing, with fans notified by email beginning June 8 regarding the status of their request. Submitting a request does not guarantee tickets, and availability is limited. For additional details on how to register for the drawing, ticket registration and event information, visit Freedom250GP.com.
“We are excited to give fans across the country the opportunity to be part of this historic celebration,” said Bud Denker, Chairman of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. “This event was designed to be accessible to everyone, bringing the energy and excitement of IndyCar racing to the heart of our nation’s capital during a truly special moment in American history. We encourage fans to register and submit their request for free general admission tickets and join us for an unforgettable weekend in Washington, D.C.”
Two-day tickets for both Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 22-23) will be available by request, along with single-day tickets for Saturday (Aug. 22) or Sunday (Aug. 23) only access. The Freedom 250 Grand Prix online ticket request window will extend from Friday, May 29, through Sunday, June 7. Ticket requests will be selected by a random Ticketmaster drawing after June 7, and registrants will be notified by email whether their requested tickets have been fulfilled. Limited tickets are available and submitting a request will not guarantee tickets for the weekend.
Fans that are selected through the drawing will receive tickets in one of the two Freedom 250 Grand Prix ticketed areas – either the STARS Ticket Area or the STRIPES Ticket Area (learn more at Freedom250GP.com). A General Admission ticket will be required to access either the STARS Ticket Area or the STRIPES Ticket Area and a ticket to one area will not grant access to the other area. Each fan that requests tickets through the online portal will be eligible to secure a maximum of four free General Admission tickets per day.
The 1.7-mile, seven-turn Freedom 250 Grand Prix course will carve through the heart of Washington, D.C., circling the National Mall and positioning IndyCar racing alongside some of the most iconic landmarks in the world. The street circuit will feature a high-speed 0.4-mile run down Pennsylvania Avenue, dramatically framed by the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol. Pit lane will sit just off the straight between Turns 1 and 2, keeping the crews and cars at the center of the action. The drivers will charge past landmarks including the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art and the National Archives, creating a course that blends technical challenge with an unmistakable and historic backdrop.
The unique street race will be broadcast live on FOX on Sunday, Aug. 23.
