Dreyer & Reinbold partners with RallyX Americas

RallyX Americas has announced another partner team for its upcoming season, with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing joining the fray.

Last week the series announced that Hansen Motorsport, SET Promotion, JC Raceteknik and Olsbergs MSE would all be competing in the series’ top "Hypercar" class for the all-electric FC1. Now DRR has joined that list, providing its cars as well as additional assets and transporter infrastructure to support the series both on and off track.

“We’ve been a firm believer in the potential of rallycross in North America for a long time, and we’re excited to support RallyX Americas in their vision for the sport,” said Dreyer & Reinbold Racing owner Dennis Reinbold. “This partnership brings our fleet of FC1s back to the track in front of some of the biggest crowds we’ve seen to date. We’re looking forward to supporting their inaugural season and delivering a great experience for competitors and fans alike.”

Expanding on the announcement to RACER, Reinbold said, “Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is providing our cars in conjunction with Andreas Eriksson to use in support of the series.

“We are fully supporting the growth of the series, which we believe is much more sustainable. The series is positioned to take advantage of relevant technology that will be utilized globally such as solid state technology.”

While best-known as an IndyCar team, DRR has been a consistent presence in U.S. rallycross in recent series. It started out competing in Global Rallycross’ second-tier GRC Lites series, while also supporting the SH Racing effort in the top Supercar class.

It then went on to compete in ARX2 before running the first full season of Nitrocross, again in the second tier (then dubbed NRX NEXT) and the Supercar class in 2021 before transitioning to the electric Group E class in 2022. There it teamed up with JC Raceteknik where it won two titles and led the 2024-25 standings before the season was abandoned.

More recently, DRR fielded two cars in last summer’s RallyX Americas exhibition at the Crandon World Championships with Andrew Carlson and Fraser McConnell driving.

“We’re very excited and grateful for our partnership with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing to get the inaugural RallyX Americas season off the ground,” said RallyX founder Andreas Eriksson. “Dennis and I have been great partners in the sport of rallycross for more than a decade, and the DRR team has elevated the professionalism of the sport from their very first race.

“Having them involved as a series partner ensures that high-quality, well-maintained resources will be available for Hypercar teams from day one, which in turn will allow us to put on the best possible show for the fans.”

Dominik often jokes that he was born in the wrong country – a lover of NASCAR and IndyCar, he covered both in a past life as a junior at Autosport in the UK, but he’s spent most of his career to date covering the sliding and flying antics of the U.S.’ interpretation of rallycross. Rather fitting for a man that says he likes “seeing cars do what they’re not supposed to do”, previously worked for a car stunt show, and once even rolled a rally car with Travis Pastrana. He was also comprehensively beaten in a kart race by Sebastien Loeb once, but who hasn’t been?
