Spring Mountain Race Series reaches season midpoint with composed, competitive weekend

The Spring Mountain Race Series reached the midpoint of its season under ideal conditions, where execution and consistency proved decisive across both series.

The opening Sports Car race featured close battles throughout the field, including wheel-to-wheel racing between Kristin Saroyan and Renee West in GTM. In GTU, Kha Phan pushed in pursuit of Mark Ramsey but spun while searching for pace, allowing Ramsey to secure the class win.

At the front of GTM, Randy Wonnenberg delivered a composed drive, maintaining his advantage over Michele Abbate to take victory.

In GT4, John Mueller claimed the win as Zach Bradford pressured Bruce Semler in the fight for second, the pair remaining closely matched through the closing laps.

Race 2 brought further momentum shifts. GTM competitors Dylan Northern and Abbate charged early, while KTM drivers Mueller and Michael Reynolds ran nose-to-tail. Abbate executed a decisive pass on Wonnenberg to take the race win, but bonus points for qualifying and fastest lap secured Wonnenberg the overall GTM victory for the weekend.

The Radical Cup Challenge featured disciplined competition across both sessions. Michael Reynolds debuted a new Radical entry and finished third in the Silver class. In Gold, Steven Thomas executed a well-timed pass on Doug Ramirez to secure second overall for the weekend. Chris Souliotis advanced from the back of the grid in Race 2 to take the Silver class win.

With the championship at its halfway mark, margins remain tight across multiple classes heading into the second half of the season.
