Weather intensifies high stakes battles at Spring Mountain’s November race weekend
A fast-moving storm system forced officials to condense the November Spring Mountain Race Series into a single, action-packed Friday afternoon. With all four races moved into a tighter schedule, drivers faced a demanding run of back-to-back sessions where strategy, focus, and consistency were critical.
Fifteen drivers lined up for the Sports Car Series, adapting quickly to a surface that offered evolving levels of grip throughout the day. The field delivered clean, disciplined racing across both sessions, with drivers managing changing conditions and maintaining composure through dense traffic and limited turnaround time.
In Race 1, Zach Bradford led the GT4 class ahead of John Mueller and Bruce Semler, while Paul Chamberlain topped GTL with Brian Schmidt finishing second. Mark Ramsey claimed the GTU victory, Brian Reynolds stood alone atop the GTX podium, and Randy Wonnenberg secured the GTM win over Dylan Northern and Chad Lancaster.
Race 2 saw Mueller rebound to take the GT4 victory ahead of Semler and Bradford, while Chamberlain once again controlled GTL with Schmidt in second. Ramsey repeated his GTU victory, Reynolds completed a clean sweep in GTX, and Wonnenberg returned to the top of the GTM podium, followed by Lancaster and Karen Wonnenberg.

The Radical Cup Challenge produced some of the most intense action of the weekend. Race 1 was briefly halted following an incident, compressing the remaining green-flag running and increasing the importance of every lap. With a full double-header on the schedule, turnaround time between sessions was minimal, adding an extra layer of pressure for teams and drivers.
Eighteen cars returned for the second race, supported by rapid repair work from the Spring Mountain Racing crew after several cars sustained damage in the opener. The quick turnaround allowed the full grid to take the start, resulting in a competitive and well-executed Race 2 despite the tight timeline.
In Race 1, Gregg Gorski earned the Platinum class victory with Sam Yu finishing second, while Brandon Rambo led the Gold field ahead of Mark Rohrwasser and Josh Esfahani. The Silver class saw Gary Torres take the win over Bruce Semler and Jay Torres, and Ed Fernandez captured the Rookie class victory.
Race 2 again belonged to Gorski in Platinum, with Yu finishing second and David Tweedlie completing the podium. Rambo repeated his Gold class victory ahead of Nick Groat and Rohrwasser, while Torres completed a Silver class sweep, followed by Jay Torres and Semler.

The day concluded with a combined podium ceremony for the Sports Car and Radical Cup competitors—an uncommon moment prompted by the condensed schedule and a fitting finish to a demanding race day.
