Works Ferrari Hypercar team staying with its title-winning line-up
Ferrari and AF Corse have announced that its pair of factory Ferrari 499Ps will have the same driver line-ups for a fourth consecutive FIA World Endurance Championship season.
Reigning Hypercar world drivers’ champions Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi will be back behind the wheel of the No. 51 Ferrari AF Corse 499P, while the No. 50 Ferrari retains the trio of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen. It marks the first time in WEC history that a manufacturer in the premier class has kept the same driver line-ups for four years in a row, dating back to the 499P’s debut in 2023.
Ferrari has elected not to use the champion’s No. 1 plate, sticking with its customary Nos. 50 and 51 as Toyota Gazoo Racing and Porsche Penske Motorsport had done previously.
The two factory Ferraris started the season with three straight victories at Qatar, Imola, and Spa-Francorchamps on their way to finishing first and third in the Hypercar standings.
In addition, the privateer No. 83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P that won this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans is set to return for its third season. However thus far only Ferrari factory driver Ye Yifei has been announced as part of its 2026 driver line-up.
Ye won Le Mans alongside Robert Kubica and Philip Hanson, and together they went on to finish second in the drivers’ championship behind their factory counterparts. Last month, Kubica told RACER that he had not yet established his plans for 2026.
With today’s announcement that Proton Competition will not return to enter any privateer Porsche 963s in the WEC next season, the yellow satellite Ferrari is set to be the only privateer entry in the 2026 Hypercar class – confirmation of which will be made when the 2026 FIA WEC entry list is published in the coming days.
