Koch joins Triarsi for CTMP
Just weeks after finishing third in class at the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen, Kenton Koch appeared to be on the sidelines for this weekend's Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, when it was confirmed that Korthoff Competition Motors would not be one of the GTD entries making the trip up to Canada.
But Koch has been given a lifeline for this weekend's race. He'll drive the No. 021 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 alongside Onofrio Triarsi, who moves over from the No. 023 Ferrari that has primarily run in the Michelin Endurance Cup events.
It will be the third new line-up for the No. 021 Ferrari, which began the season with Sheena Monk and Stevan McAleer behind the wheel, and JG Wentworth as its primary sponsor. Monk, JG Wentworth and Triarsi Competizione mutually agreed to part ways before the race at Watkins Glen, creating a new driver trio of AJ Muss, Alessandro Balzan and Jason Hart.
In the same event, Koch, Daniel Morad, and Mikey Taylor picked up the No. 32 Korthoff Mercedes-AMG GT3's first podium of the season at Watkins Glen. That result moved Koch up to sixth in the GTD drivers' standings, 192 points behind Winward Racing's Russell Ward and Philip Ellis.
Taylor was a last-minute appointment for Korthoff at the Glen, replacing full-time driver Seth Lucas. Following the change, the Korthoff team's official website and social media accounts were deactivated – or, in the case of their Instagram page, purged of all material relating to the 2025 season, when Competition Motors (owned by Seth's father Chris Lucas) linked up with Herb Korthoff's team.
Koch – who scored Korthoff's first IMSA WeatherTech series win at VIR last year – addressed the team's absence this weekend on social media, writing: "It’s not for a lack of results and good times. This group that’s been put together has been incredible to work with and am proud of what we have accomplished over the last few years. I don’t have too much clarity on the situation and have no shade to throw on anyone. I would appreciate y’all’s patience in asking the obvious question of why."
