NASCAR All-Star Race numbers show Sunday night success

Sunday night’s NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway was a success, if going by the numbers.

NASCAR released several statistics after Christopher Bell beat Joey Logano to the win, which indicate that the 41st edition of the All-Star Race – the third consecutive year the event was held at North Wilkesboro Speedway – will stand out in history.

Per NASCAR:

-       59 green flag passes for the lead: series most all time in the All-Star Race (2005-2025)

-       18 lead changes at the start/finish line: series most all time in the All-Star Race (1985-2025)

-       1,426 green flag passes: second-most all time in the All-Star Race (2005-2025) – The record is 1,494 at Charlotte Motor Speedway from 2018

-       8 different leaders: tied for the second most all-time in the All-Star Race (1985-2025) – The record is 9 at Charlotte Motor Speedway from 2002

Bell became a first-time winner of the All-Star Race in his fifth try. He is the 27th different driver to win the event.

Logano led a race-high 139 of 250 laps.

North Wilkesboro is the fifth different track that has hosted the All-Star Race. The previous host sites have been Atlanta Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, and Texas Motor Speedway.
