Sebring warm-up brings more trouble for Pfaff Porsche

IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams tackled a soggy Sebring International Raceway for a 20-minute warm-up session for today’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. It’s been raining all night, although it is forecast to let off at 10 a.m. ET, prior to the race start at 10:40 a.m. Cloudy skies are forecast through the event, with a high of 77 and scattered showers later in the afternoon.

At least 30 of the 38 starters sampled the circuit, with 10 of them managing to post a time. GTD competitor Felipe Fraga was fastest at 2m48.190s despite a harmless spin in the No. 33 Wynn’s Mercedes-AMG GT3. He was the only competitor under the three-minute mark.

Only six minutes into the session, Scott Hargrove spun and had a light impact with a tire barrier, resulting in some bodywork damage in the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R. That car was badly damaged in a rainy crash in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, with the Canadian team needing an extensive rebuild. The car will start third in GTD, with Zach Robichon the starting driver. The incident brought out a six-minute red flag.
