Pumpelly's Porsche fast in St. Pete GT4 Sprint practice

The Racer’s Group (TRG)’s Spencer Pumpelly posted the fastest time in the first Pirelli GT4 Sprint practice session on the streets of St. Petersburg Friday.

Pumpelly hustled the No. 66 Porsche 718 Cayman CS MR around the temporary street circuit in 1m19.266s, just 0.023s quicker than second-qualifier Jade Buford's No. 41 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4, which clocked a 1m19.289 best.

Third was Team Panoz Racing's Ian James with a 1m20.216s fast lap in the No. 50 Panoz Avezzano GT4.

In the Sprint amateur class, Park Place Motorsports’ No. 7 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS MR topped the charts, Alan Brynjolfsson at the helm. Shane Lewis' No. 72 Robinson Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4 was second and Andretti Autosport's Jarett Andretti (No. 18 McLaren 570S GT4) third.
