NASCAR Champions Week moves to Nashville

Beginning this winter, NASCAR will hold Champion’s Week in Nashville. The season-ending awards banquet is headed to the Music City Center in downtown Nashville. The banquet will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5.

NASCAR had celebrated its champion in Las Vegas for the last 10 years. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, the activities were held in New York City from 1981-2008.

“This year, we set a course to look at everything we do through a different lens, including how we celebrate the champions of our sport,” said NASCAR president Steve Phelps. “Nashville’s energy, vibrant entertainment scene, and deep-rooted lineage in motorsports informed our decision and we believe our fans and industry will embrace the move to the Music City.”

The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck and NASCAR Xfinity Series banquet will continue to be held at the Charlotte Convention Center and NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte. NASCAR will celebrate with those series on Friday, November 22.

NASCAR Home Tracks will hold its banquet the next day, Saturday, November 23, also at the Charlotte Convention Center and NASCAR Hall of Fame.
