Hertz joins Byron as primary sponsor

Hendrick Motorsports has signed a two-year agreement with Hertz to be a primary sponsor on the No. 24 Chevrolet.

Hertz will begin its partnership with rookie William Byron this weekend as he looks to qualify for the Monster Energy All-Star Race. The company will then be a primary sponsor in four points-paying races this season, as well as in 2019.

All other events will see Hertz serve as the team’s associate sponsor.

“It’s really special that a leading brand like Hertz has so much confidence in me,” said Byron. “It motivates me to continue working hard and doing everything I can to make sure we deliver results for them. I’m happy to welcome Hertz to the Hendrick Motorsports family and look forward to having a lot of success with them in the months and years ahead.”

Hertz had previously been a part of the Team Penske program.

Liberty University and Axalta are Byron’s other main partners.

“We’re pleased to welcome Hertz as a new partner,” said team owner Rick Hendrick. “It’s a tremendous organization that has a worldwide footprint and does a lot of good in the community through its Hertz Giving initiatives.

“With William and the No. 24 program, we see numerous opportunities to work together to positively impact their company and brand. All of us look forward to collaborating with the entire Hertz team.”
