TV Ratings: NASCAR at Vegas
NASCAR played a prominent role on the sports calendar last weekend.
Sunday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 from Las Vegas scored a 2.89 rating and averaged 4.7 million viewers on FOX. On the same weekend in 2017, the Cup series was at Atlanta, and that race earned a 3.78 rating and averaged 6.6 million viewers.
SportsBusiness Daily reports that Pennzoil 400 projects to be the most-watched sporting event of the weekend after going head-to-head with the Winter Olympics during its first two weekends.
Saturday's Xfinity Series race from Vegas drew a 0.80 and averaged 1.26 million on FS1. Last year at Atlanta, 1.4 million viewers tuned in for a 1.4 rating. The Camping World Truck Series was off in 2018.
