F1: EU's investigation moves to 'next level'

The European Union Competitions Commission inquiry into Formula 1's governance and payment structure has moved to the "next level," according to Force India deputy team principal Bob Fernley.
Force India and Sauber lodged the complaint just over a year ago, citing the division of revenues and drawing up of rules as "unfair and unlawful." The EU created a new internal division earlier this year to deal solely with sporting matters, of which the F1 case is one.
There has been very little movement since the case was opened, but Fernley said on Friday in Malaysia that progress has been made.
"It has gone through due process and I can confirm it has gone to the next level in terms of a request for further information from the EU," he said. "Who those have been sent to, I don't know.
"From our point of view, because we're in legal process with them, we can't say anything about what we're doing. But I can confirm it is at that stage from an EU point of view."
