IMSA: Shank Ligier-Honda leads dry Canada FP3
Michael Shank Racing earned the unfortunate distinction of setting the fastest lap of Saturday morning's practice session at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and triggering a red flag with minutes remaining when John Pew stuffed the nose of his Ligier JS P2-Honda into the wall.
After a Friday spent in mixed wet/dry conditions, IMSA's WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams were greeted with the first dry session of the event. Prior to Pew's contact, teammate Ozz Negri was able to set a lap of 1:10.522, which barely edged the No. 55 Mazda P2 Prototype (-0.002) and the No. 31 Action Express Corvette DP (-0.119). The crash was not expected to prevent the MSR team from taking part in qualifying later today.
