Top Canadian looks to take over lead in Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA standings MONTREAL, QUEBEC – With five wins out of six races, Canadian Jesse Lazare is looking to put his No. 21 Door Doctor Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car back in the winners circle in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama this weekend at Watkins Glen International. The series will reach the halfway point of its 2016 season with this weekend's pair of races. "We've had a great first half except for one flat tire," Lazare said. "Kelly-Moss Motorsports has given me a great car every time out, and now I want the points lead back." It was that one flat tire, which came during the second race at Sebring in March, that cost Lazare the championship lead, but he has worked his way back to within a single point of the top spot by winning four consecutive races. If he continues that streak of success this weekend, he has a strong opportunity to retake the points lead and go into the season's home stretch in control. Lazare heads to The Glen full of confidence after a very strong showing in testing. "For some reason our car really likes this track, and I can't wait to get started there," Lazare added. |
