IMSA: Series announces GT Daytona BoP adjustments

IMSA's technical department has made Balance of Performance adjustments to every model entered in the GT Daytona category for the upcoming six-hour race in Watkins Glen. No BoP changes are expected for the other three WeatherTech SportsCar Championship classes.

Audi's V10-powered R8 LMS GT3 will breathe easier and make more power with an extra 2.0 mm of airflow through its inlet restrictors.

BMW's twin-turbo V8-powered M6 GT3 has received modest boost increases throughout its rev range from 2000-7250 rpm.

Dodge's speedy V10 Viper, which handled the GTD field with ease at the most recent round in Detroit, has lost 1.0 mm of airflow in an effort to pull some power out of the hulking coupe.

Ferrari's twin-turbo V8 488 has gone in the opposite direction from the M6 GT3 and will have less boost from 2000-7500 rpm.

Lamborghini's Huracán GT3, which received a harsh BoP adjustment following its unexpected performance advantage at Daytona, will make use of an extra 2.0 mm of airflow to its V10 engine.

And finally, Porsche's 911 GT3 R was handed the only weight change in GTD and will carry an additional 15 kgs (33 lbs) starting at the June 30-July 4 contest in upstate New York.
