GT: Cammish gets international race debut

Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Dan Cammish will make his international sportscar debut in this weekend's Blancpain GT Series event at Silverstone.

The 27-year-old was a late addition to the Konrad Motorsport team's line-up in a pro class Lamborghini Huracan GT3 at the BGTS Endurance Cup round. He will share the car with ADAC GT Masters race winner Jules Gounon and former Porsche Supercup front-runner Christopher Zoechling.

Cammish, who contested two rounds of the German Carrera Cup with Franz Konrad's team last season, had been set to drive one of its Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make racers on the Silverstone bill.

"It started with a phone call on Thursday, so it's all been a bit last minute," Cammish told Autosport. "The original plan had been to drive one of the Super Trofeo cars, but I said to Franz, 'why not put me in the GT3 car?' Driving a GT3 car will be a new experience for me, but hopefully I'll get enough time to be competitive tomorrow."

Cammish has taken the place of Christopher Bruck, who is racing in the VLN long-distance championship at the Nurburgring this weekend.

Gounon, son of ex-Formula 1 driver Jean-Marc, guest drove with the team at the Monza Endurance Cup opener last month and has been retained for Silverstone.
