America's Sargeant wins world karting title

American karter Logan Sargeant won the CIK-FIA World KFJ Championship in La Conca, Italy today. The 14-year-old Sargeant joins 1978 World Karting Champion Lake Speed and 2013 ROTAX Grand Finals Junior Max Champion Juan Correa as the only Americans to earn a world title in karting.

Sargeant, starting from the pole position, managed to pull away after an initial battle with French karter Clement Novalak, who fought for the second position until the end. Eventually, Sargeant won the race and the title, while the the runner-up was Novalak with Brazil's Caio Collet in third position.

The KF world title was won by Poland's Karol Basz.
