Formula E: Battersea track altered due to bumps
Revisions were made to the London ePrix circuit in Battersea Park ahead of second free practice for this weekend's Formula E finale.
The profile of the first corner of the 1.81-mile track was changed so that the Formula E cars will miss a major bump on the exit of the left-hander.
The bump caused the failure of a rear pushrod on Jerome d'Ambrosio's Dragon Racing Spark-Renault SRT_01E in the opening session of free practice and has come in from widespread criticism from the drivers.
D'Ambrosio told AUTOSPORT: "They have to do something. Turn 1, and Turn 8 as well, are really bad. Those bumps are bad, but the rest of the circuit is really nice."
Virgin Racing driver Sam Bird described the bump on the racing line on the exit of Turn 1 as "a big scary because the front of the car takes off".
The bumps caused damage to three underfloor planks in Friday afternoon's shakedown session, in which each car completes three laps behind the safety car.
Formula E constructor Spark brought in a new batch of spare planks overnight as a precaution.
