WEC: Nissan completes major LMP1 test
Nissan's new GT-R LM NISMO completed more than 2000km of testing in the U.S. this week.
The World Endurance Championship contender ran for four days at the Chevrolet test facility at Bowling Green, Ky., racking up the equivalent of 50 percent of its previous accumulated distance. The test, which was focused on endurance running, was held in mostly wet conditions.
Harry Tincknell, who did the majority of the running, said: "We have learnt a lot about the Michelin wets, especially our bespoke rear tire, so it has been very useful. We have had the car running smoothly and are still learning masses every day."
Michael Krumm, Max Chilton, Marc Gene, Jann Mardenborough and Alex Buncombe also took part in the test. A Nissan-powered LMP2 car was present to validate work undertaken on the simulator.
The team has two more days of running scheduled in the U.S. before returning to Europe ahead of the Le Mans test day on May 31.
