Report: Clarkson still set for Top Gear Live show
Although he has been removed as host of the popular TV show Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson is still expected to appear in the "Top Gear Live" show in Australia next month, according to the UK Daily Mirror.
The newspaper reports that Clarkson is still set to appear alongside co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond to host the show in front of as many as 40,000 paying customers over two days.
Clarkson’s contract was not renewed by the BBC TV network following his altercation with producer Oisin Tymon
, The Mirror says "it is understood he has a separate deal for the live shows." Additional events on the Top Gear Live world tour are scheduled for South Africa, Northern Ireland and England later this year."Talks are going on to try and ensure this event goes ahead," The Mirror quotes an unnamed source as saying.
"The main priority is the thousands of people who have bought tickets."
Top Gear Live stages live events "in the spirit of Top Gear," including theatrical arena shows, track-based festivals and stand-alone motoring stunts.
