Ex-girlfriend wins no-contact order against Kurt Busch

Patricia Driscoll, the former girlfriend of NASCAR racer Kurt Busch has been granted her request for a no-contact order against the Stewart-Haas driver.

Family Court Commissioner David Jones issued his ruling on Monday following extensive hearings on the matter in December and January, with Driscoll claiming Busch assaulted her inside his motorhome during the NASCAR race at Dover last September. Busch has denied the assault allegations.

The judge's order stipulated that for a period of one year Busch is forbidden to possess firearms or ammunition and must be evaluated for "mental health problems related to anger control and impulse control." He also must stay 100 yards away from Driscoll or as far as "practicable" at NASCAR events, where Driscoll frequently appears in her role as the head of the Armed Forces Foundation.

Driscoll also filed a complaint over the incident with the Dover Police Department. The Delaware state attorney general's office has yet to rule whether any charges will be filed against Busch, although team co-owner

Tony Stewart confirmed last week that the squad has a contingency plan

in place if he does so.

"These are serious allegations and we do not take them lightly," SHR executive vice president Joe Custer said in a statement. "We are relying on the authorities in Delaware and their collective experience to identify all the facts. They are the experts in these matters and their decision, specifically the one that will be made by the Attorney General, will determine our course of action."
