Kurt Busch denies abuse allegations in court appearance

Kurt Busch got his chance in court this week to address the abuse allegations by ex-girlfriend.

Testifying at a hearing on Patricia Driscoll's request for a no-contact order, Busch denied her allegations that he had choked her and smashed her head into a wall inside his motorhome at Dover International Speedway after she drove from her Maryland home to check on him during a NASCAR race weekend there. Busch called the allegations, which are the subject of a separate criminal investigation by Dover police, a "complete fabrication."

In her testimony the previous day, Driscoll claimed that Busch is struggling with alcoholism and depression. Busch, who explained in court that he had ended couple's four-year relationship a week prior to the incident, denied her claims that he is an alcoholic, saying that he has avoided alcohol during race weekends for 15 years.

Busch's attorneys have attempted to portrayed Driscoll as a scorned woman out to destroy his career. Driscoll runs a Washington, D.C.-based defense consulting firm and is president of the Armed Forces Foundation, a nonprofit for veterans.

The hearing is scheduled to resume on Jan. 12. Click here for more details from this week's hearing FOXsports.com.
