Turner BMWs Back to the Brickyard

Turner Motorsport prepares for round seven of the Tudor United SportsCar Championship at the legendary "Brickyard" at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in the hunt for a third consecutive podium following the strong performances at Watkins Glen and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Nearly two years ago to the day, the blue and yellow BMWs celebrated their 250th professional race at the world renowned circuit. This year the team returns to start in their 293rd and 294th professional races on the newly renovated 2.49 mile 13-turn road course with high hopes to maintain their momentum heading into the final five races of the season.

In the No. 94 BMW Z4, Dane Cameron will be looking to build upon that recent run of success at Watkins Glen and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, in an effort to keep the blue and yellow in the Championship chase. For the first time since round two of the Tudor Championship at Sebring International, Cameron will be accompanied by Paul Dalla Lana in the No. 94 BMW Z4 for the Brickyard Grand Prix on Friday.

The No. 94 of Cameron and Dalla Lana will see yet another balance of performance adjustment take effect for Indy as the No. 94 BMW receives an increase of five liters in fuel capacity as well as an larger refueling restrictor. This marks the third adjustment in as many races for the Turner BMW.

Currently Dane Cameron and Markus Palttala sit fourth in GTD class driver points, just nine points out of first place. With the absence of Palttala, Cameron will be looking to chip away at the nine point gap in Team standings between himself in the No. 94 BMW and the No. 555 Ferrari.

"With only four races remaining after Indy, every point from here on out is crucial for the Championship. We sit only nine points out of first place so it's important to make the right decisions behind the wheel to stay out of trouble. I'm confident in the team to give us a BMW that will be competitive so it's up to me and my teammate Paul to do the rest." said Dane Cameron.

In the Grand Sport class, Michael Marsal and Tom Kimber-Smith will line up their No. 97 GS class M3 for Friday afternoon's IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race looking to best the team's strongest GS results at Indy. Last year the duo of Paul Dalla Lana and Bill Auberlen managed an exciting finish across the bricks in the No. 96 GS class M3 to capture a third place podium.

"I'm looking forward to getting back on the road course here at Indy. We have had a really strong BMW on the road course/oval combination tracks this year. We finished third at Daytona and had a fantastic car at Kansas to finish in the top ten. I think Tom (Kimber-Smith) and I will have a strong race here. It would be amazing to kiss the legendary bricks at the Brickyard," said Michael Marsal.

Live timing and scoring from practice, qualifying and the race can all be found on IMSA.com. GTD qualifying will be broadcast live on IMSA.com on Thursday, July 24th beginning at 4:00 PM ET. The Tudor Championship race will be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports 1 at 5:30 on Friday, July 25th and the IMSA Continental Challenge race will be LIVE at 2:35 PM on IMSA.com.

In addition driver Dane Cameron will be taking over the Turner Motorsport Twitter account today beginning at 5:00pm ET. Follow @Turnermotrsport on Twitter to join the conversation.
