D'Ambrosio joins Dragon Racing in Formula E

Former Formula 1 driver Jerome d'Ambrosio has completed former IndyCar squad Dragon Racing's lineup for the inaugural Formula E season.

The Belgian, who raced for Virgin and Lotus in F1, has so far tested for the China Racing entry, and was a regular frontrunner during the last two-day test at Donington Park.

"I am so pleased to have Jerome pilot one of our two Dragon Racing entries," team owner Jay Penske said. "After watching his performances in F1, as well as the most recent Formula E test, I feel that the combination of Jerome and our team should prove to be a formidable force."

IndyCar Toronto race 2 winner Mike Conway will occupy the other Dragon car.

D'Ambrosio added: "It is with great excitement that I will be at the wheel of the Dragon Racing entry in the first season of the Formula E championship. I have watched the team closely over the last few months and feel that together we can achieve great results during the first season.

D'Ambrosio's signing leaves just three empty slots on the grid: one alongside Franck Montagny at Andretti Autosport, and the two China seats.
