WRC teams settle TV dispute

An agreement has been reached between the WRC teams and manufacturers to allow the drivers to talk about Rally of Portugal.

On the instruction of the teams, the drivers refused to talk to WRC television crews this morning but, following a meeting in the afternoon, interviews were completed on the second loop of stages.

The teams were forced to take action after they said they were denied access to footage from Friday's stages. Today's discussions ensured the teams have footage tonight and the WRC Promoter has interviews with the drivers.

"We had a very constructive meeting today which solved the issues here in Portugal. This was a good cooperation," Volkswagen's Jost Capito said.

On reaching the end of the stages, the drivers had kept their doors shut when an interview for television was requested.
