Daly, Lancaster confirm GP2 plans

IndyCar and F1 hope Conor Daly and GP2 race winner Jon Lancaster have secured the final seats on the GP2 grid for this weekend's Bahrain season opener. Both will drive for the teams with which they tested last month, with Lancaster (LEFT) staying on at MP and Daly (TOP) lining up with Lazarus.

Daly made a one-off appearance with Hilmer in the 2013 Sepang event before focusing on GP3, in which he finished third. The American, son of former Formula 1 driver Derek Daly, also contested last year's Indianapolis 500 with AJ Foyt Racing. Daly will join Nathanael Berthon at the Lazarus team.

Briton Lancaster took two GP2 victories with Hilmer last season.

Zimbabwean 19-year-old Axcil Jefferies, who made two Indy Lights appearances last season, will also race in Bahrain this weekend. He completes the Trident team's lineup alongside race winner Johnny Cecotto Jr.
