Lotus reprimanded over pit stop
Lotus has been hit with a reprimand for a member of team personnel not wearing head protection during Romain Grosjean's unscheduled pit stop in the Singapore Grand Prix.
The incident happened when Romain Grosjean pulled into the pits because he was running low on the compressed air used by the pneumatic valves in the engine, with the problem ultimately leading to his retirement.
The team member who was not wearing the head protection is believed to be an engine specialist from Renault who was not a member of the pit crew but who was looking into the problem.
An FIA statement on the reprimand confirmed that it was because "a member of team personnel did not wear head protection during a pit stop."
