Ford’s Priaulx and Sargeant set for Proton LMGT3 Mustangs

Two of Ford Racing's 2027 Hypercar drivers will spend this season competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship as part of the brand's LMGT3 program with partner team Proton Competition.

The two-car effort from Proton will be led by factory drivers Sebastian Priaulx and Logan Sargeant, as they ramp up to moving into the top class with the Blue Oval's ORECA-based, V8-powered LMDh prototype in 12 months' time.

Priaulx will race in the No. 77 Ford Mustang LMGT3 Evo alongside returnee Ben Tuck and Eric Powell, who drove with Ford customer team Dollahite Racing in GT World Challenge America last year. For Priaulx, this adds to his IMSA Endurance Cup drive in GTD PRO with the Multimatic factory team, and ELMS LMP2 program (also with Proton), which has been set up to help Ford, Venture Engineering and two of its drivers get dialed into prototype racing.

Sargeant joins the attack after an appearance at the Bahrain Rookie Test with the team in November. He will share the No. 88 Mustang LMGT3 with Italians Giammarco Levorato and Stefano Gattuso. Along with Dennis Olsen, they finished second at Spa last year, a season-high.

The three new names replace Olsen, Ben Barker and Bernardo Sousa from the 2025 Proton LMGT3 line-up.

In addition to naming its drivers for LMGT3, Ford also unveiled its driver line-up for the 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour, the opening round of SRO's Intercontinental GT Challenge series.

Next month, Ford will take the Mustang GT3 to the event for the first time with partner Haupt Racing Team (pictured above), with the aim of fighting for the overall win in the Pro class.

Australian Supercars ace Broc Feeney will share the wheel of the Mustang with two members of Ford's factory stable that have won the 12 Hour in the past: Chris Mies and Dennis Olsen.
