Stenhouse joins Niece Motorsports for pair of Truck Series races

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will compete in the first two races of the Craftsman Truck Series season with Niece Motorsports.

It will be the first time Stenhouse has run a Truck Series race. Stenhouse will make his debut at Daytona International Speedway, the season opener, in the No. 45 Chevrolet. He will also run the following week at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta). J.F. Electrical will be the primary sponsor on the truck for Stenhouse’s two events.

Stenhouse will then turn the truck over to Landon Lewis and Ross Chastain. The duo will split driving duties for the remainder of the season. Phil Gould is the team’s crew chief.

“I’ve always wanted to run a truck, but never had the opportunity to put something together,” Stenhouse said. “When Cody (Efaw, Niece president and CEO) called me, I definitely had a lot of interest to see what all they have been building here at Niece Motorsports, especially looking at their level of competition. With it being at Daytona, obviously winning the 500 was awesome, and I’d love to win a Truck Series race there, too. I’ve always wanted to race a truck, but I wanted it to be competitive and this checks all those boxes.”

Stenhouse is a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series for Hyak Motorsports. He is a former Daytona 500 winner (2023) and has a summer win at the speedway.

“We are all very excited to welcome Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to our team for his first time racing in the Truck Series,” said Efaw. “I’ve known Ricky for several years now, dating back to our time at Roush, and he’s always been a natural on superspeedways. I believe he will have a true shot at contending for the win at both Daytona and Atlanta.”
