Crawford hopes Silverstone F2 win boosted his F1 chances
Jak Crawford believes his victory in the Formula 2 feature race at Silverstone is a display of what he’s capable of to both Aston Martin and potential suitors at Cadillac.
The American is a development driver for Aston Martin, and is understood to be in the frame to get FP1 outings later this year as he fights for the F2 title. Crawford has also been linked with the new Cadillac team, which has yet to finalize its driver line-up for 2026, so he feels his win in wet conditions under severe pressure from McLaren youngster Alex Dunne at Silverstone was perfectly timed.
“I think a race like [Silverstone] is perfect to show what I've got,” Crawford said. “[It was] one of the trickiest races with Alex, who's highly rated, and Luke [Browning] right behind me. So I think it was a perfect race for that to show that I can drive in wet weather conditions, and I can deal with adversity. So I hope they all see that.”

“Amazing timing as well, right when I needed to make a push for the championship," he noted. "It felt like a big weekend in the championship with me and Alex starting on the front row, basically tied on points, and Richard starting down the field.
“I was able to execute and get the win. What a day for the championship, what a day in general. My second home race – obviously not having any races in the U.S. – so it was a great day.
“After the next race we do, I could be leading the championship. So we're in it now. After Austria, I felt like I was behind. We needed to come to Silverstone and make a statement and get big points. And that's exactly what we did.”
On top of his F2 title bid, Crawford has also been acting as a reserve driver for Andretti’s Formula E team, appearing in the Berlin rookie test this week for the TWG Motorsports-owned team.
