The driver considered to be Team Penske’s best chance to earn pole position later today for the Indianapolis 500 was the fastest of the Fast 12 group during the 1-2pm ET practice session with a lap of 233.553mph, but Scott McLaughlin was unable to complete the outing after spinning, crashing, and briefly flying in Turn 2.

Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward was third at 232.322mph and the rest of the runners ranged from 232.734mph to 229.978mph.
